History

The history of Primus Electronics dates back to 1980 when it was founded by Dr. Michael Greenwald and Robert Cramner, two business-savvy individuals who put the company on the radar with their increasing business in the two-way radio market. Seeing its long-term potential, Dr. Greenwald purchased the business in 1991 and promoted Mr. Michael Johnson to President of Primus Electronics.

By 1995, under the guidance of President Michael Johnson, the company had grown from a neighborhood supplier into a widely successful and competitive player in the wireless communications business. Primus achieved this success by continuously expanding its quality line of products and building exceptional relationships within the industry.

Primus has grown every year thereafter with extraordinary distribution accomplishments in several key industry segments including railroad, tower, broadband and two-way markets, all while adhering to its superior service business standards which helped seal every deal along the way.

Due to its growing customer base and increasing quality product lines, in 2008 Primus relocated its headquarters to Morris, Illinois where the company resides today in its new, ecological-friendly building which more than doubles its capacity and inventory.

Today, Primus carries an extensive quality line of products from over 200+ quality manufacturers, has unsurpassed logistical capabilities, staging and site kitting services, order and product customization, cable processing capabilities, and remains a certified Andrew jumper cable manufacturing facility.
